Are there vegetarian lunch options included?
The Akumal Swim with Turtles tour includes soft drinks, snacks, and a choice of fish, chicken, or meat dishes for lunch. Vegetarian options are included upon request, so make sure to request them when you book the tour and confirm them the day before your tour starts.
What are the odds of seeing the turtles?
Though the green sea turtle is an endangered species, their presence is guaranteed. Akumal Bay is one of their favorite spots to eat, and they always hang out around the bay to eat and rest.
Is this safe for children?
While the temazcal is safe for children five years and up, bear in mind that it does get quite hot inside, reaching temperatures up to 38 C or 100 F. While they might find the initial ceremony interesting, children may need to leave the temazcal early.
What equipment is provided and what do I need to bring?
The tour includes snorkeling equipment, transportation to and from the hotel, a certified bilingual guide, and soft drinks and snacks. There are also wetsuits available upon request at Xtun. You need to bring comfortable clothing and shoes, a towel, a swimsuit, sunglasses and a hat, a change of clothes, and money for personal expenses. Additionally, there's a 13 USD per person fee to enter the Natural Reserve.
