Description

Skip the crowds and experience Belize’s true treasures on this Belize River tour. This tour is best done from San Ignacio, Belmopan or other regions of the Cayo District. It is not doable from Belize City in a Day.

You’ll take a journey along a river that’s hidden behind the country’s vast green array of trees, birds, and howler monkeys. Sure, you’ll get to see some of the beautiful creatures that make this area extra special, but if you’re looking to get out and explore Belize off the beaten path along with incredible guides, good vibes, and spectacular waterfalls, this tour is for you.

The journey involves setting sail on an exciting and unforgettable river cruise where your guide will take you to explore waterfalls and other stunning destinations. On this Belizean pontoon boat tour each discovery along the river is unique and magical. Take in the scenery as the pontoon traverses the calm waters of the river, cutting a course through the lush Belizean mountains that were carved by the river itself.

During the tour, you’ll get a chance to take your relaxing day out to the next level. Lay in hammocks or tubes slowly behind the boat. Besides some optional swimming to cool down, you can also try your hand at cliff jumping from adrenaline-pumping heights or climb the famous Sandpaper waterfall over 100 feet high! Belize waterfalls are like nowhere else in the world, and it’s time for you to see them for yourself!

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm visiting Belize on a cruise. Can I take this pontoon boat tour?
This tour is based out of the San Ignacio area. Unfortunately, it is not available to cruisers due to time constraints.
What is included in this pontoon boat tour?
The Belize Waterfalls excursion includes pretty much everything you might need for a full day out. This includes roundtrip transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, a driver and professional guide, lunch, bottled water, snacks, sodas, towels, and entrance fees.
Is this tour available year around?
Yes, this tour is available at any time of the year, but it’s important to note that the Sandpaper waterfall may not be accessible in the drier months. Some Belize waterfalls need to have plenty of water flowing for them to be safe to climb, so if we haven’t had much rain in a while, we might not be able to complete all activities on the tour.
Which waterfall will we see on along the way?
This pontoon river cruise takes you to the Sandpaper waterfall in Belize.
