Grand Cayman History & Sightseeing Tour
If you’re keen to understand Grand Cayman’s history and culture, four and a haf hour tour will satisfy your curiosity and expand your knowledge of this fascinating destination.
Take in the best of the Cayman Islands historic sights, starting with your first port of call in the island capital of George Town. Here, you’ll visit the Cayman Islands National Museum, where you can check out loads of memorabilia relating to the island’s seafaring past. You’ll also visit the island’s oldest Post Office, dating back to the late 1800s, as well as the Cayman Island Courthouse, and the Governor’s House.
After exploring the highlights of George Town, you’ll move on to the Tortuga Rum Cake Factory where you can enjoy a sweet treat, sampling the world-famous (and super delicious) rum-infused sponge cakes made famous by the Caribbean.
Then it’s on to the oldest stone building in the Caymans. The 3-story structure, called Pedro St James Castle, was built by a wealthy Englishman back in the 1700s. Decorated in historic style, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you meander through this pretty period home. If you want to know more, there’s a 3D experience on site where you can find out how people lived on the Cayman Islands hundreds of years ago.
After learning so much history of the Cayman Islands, you’ll be ready for some lunch. So, stop off at a traditional restaurant serving delicious Cayman-style food, before stepping back into the present day and continuing your vacation.
